I live on a farm without a boundary and own a 4 year old boarder collie with zero recall skills or any ability to acknowledge her own name if called. She mainly only potters about, but from time to time I worry about where she is. I’ve tried 3 dog tracker devices and a Apple Airtag. This dog tracker, PitPat is stand out the best so far. No monthly subscription, easy to get on and off the collar, the battery life is superb … 12 days in and I still have 66% charge, and the best bit, when I check her location it is spot on. The only thing that I can say that is slightly negative, is that both you and your dog need to be outside and when I select ‘find my dog’, it goes through a process that is called “listening for a satellite” and it does take a moment or two while it does finding my dog! However, it has never failed to find my dog and once locked onto my dog the updates are fast regular and extremely precise, so hardly a negative at all, I just need to be outside to know where she is. This is an excellent product.

We chose the Pawfit because the information available said it worked with O2 and Vodaphone services, and as O2 is the only phone signal near us, this was our obvious choice. Unfortunately, the Pitpat did not show the dogs location anywhere near home, and when we went out for a walk to a local National Trust property, we found the Pitpat location only once! The battery life maybe lasted 12 hours maximum, and we were terribly disappointed with the tracker. The customer service was excellent however, and they explained that it wasn't just a O2 signal but the LTe service that we needed and that there was no coverage for our location, the Pitpat was never going to work for us, and the poor battery life was due to the unit constantly searching for a signal. We got a full refund, no quibble. My advice is to ring customer service first to check your area, and ask as many people that you can in your local area what they use. We now have a Pawfit which is excellent! The signal, the tracking and the app work head and shoulders above the Pitpat and we are very pleased with it .

The PitPat GPS tracker has been a life saver on at least 2 occasions since having it over the last 2 months, for keeping tabs on my dog. Its lightweight design ensures that my dog doesn't feel burdened, and the device securely attaches to their harness via a velcro loop. The real-time tracking feature provides peace of mind, allowing me to monitor my dogs activity and location through the associated app, although it's sometimes slightly behind but not a massive issue as knowing your dog is in the area is good enough. The device also records insightful data about my pet's exercise, showing me various stats. The battery life is also impressive, lasting for an extended period without constant recharging and way better than other well known makes. I've charged it 3 times in 2 months. The app is easy to use, hitting 'start a walk' when you leave the house activates the real time tracking. Overall, the PitPat GPS tracker is a reliable and effective tool for pet owners who want to prioritize their pet's safety and well-being with no subscription fee.

I bought this over the other brands to avoid a subscription fee and also invest in a British based company but do feel a bit underwhelmed. Firstly to use all the features of the product you do need a subscription which is really disappointing when they selling point of this product is no subscriptions. The app isn't great, it often freezes and is slow to update the activity data. The whole leaderboard and "pack" thing is pointless really, it was unlocked when I subscribed but is not a feature worth any money, literally every time I opened it the results were the same dogs based on meeting daily goals but no comparison about whether that daily goal was 5 mins or 50 mins etc so totally useless. The other feature that needs a subscription is track dog walks which I can't understand because it shouldn't cost any more money as I've already paid for the device and data up front and Strava do this for free. The whole dog food and insurance thing in the app is pointless, stick to what you are supposed to be doing which is dog tracking, wouldn't touch your food or insurance with a barge pole. Badges are pretty boring as well. When I cancelled my life subscription you removed all the points I had earned so I couldn't cash them in. Just stop with all the other stuff and make the app work! Sometimes tracking is very slow to start and GPS accuracy isn't that good, will jump around quite a lot even in open space with good mobile signal. Charging the battery takes a very long time, hours and hours which isn't great either.

Love this! My partner's terrier is a great little dog, very well behaved ... but sometimes he just disappears, and worries us to death! It's such a relief to be able to literally pinpoint his location! We're really happy with how this works, and rarely have a problem with a weak signal. No subscription to pay, either, which is good! Lo he comprado porque se me perdió la gatita carey ( pesa 2 kilos) 2 días enteros y me juré que no me volvería a pasar esto. Mi gata es pequeñita pero aun así no me parece tan grande para el servicio tan bueno que da. No quería un localizador con SIM y tener que pagar cada mes un plan de datos de móvil. Esto va por satélite y vale para todo el mundo. La precisión es increíble, porque lo probé estando la gata dentro de casa y tras 2 minutos que carga en conectar con el satélite, la respuesta que me lanzó fue que el localizador solo valía si el gato estaba fuera del domicilio. Por lo tanto lo localizó en casa correctamente. Puedes compartir la APP en varios telefonos. Porque las mascotas tienen muchos dueños. Y otra cosa que me parece maravillosa es que esto se puede usar para personas con Alzheimer. Para localizar lo que sea. Coches, hijos cuando se van de noche de fiesta por ahí.... en fin las posibilidades son infinitas. Buen producto.
